Federer pleased to soon play under the new Wimbledon roof..

Five-time champion Roger Federer likes the idea of the new centre court roof at Wimbleodn - something he's had experience with before on grass in Germany.

The Swiss said that while the moveable structure may be new to Wimbledon, players at Halle are well accustomed to the concept.

"I don't think it's going to change a whole lot (on court), but the good thing is there is going to be less wind on Centre court.

"I'm actually used to playing grass indoors. Halle has a sliding roof, as well, and I've played there under the roof"

.The No. 2, dethroned last summer by Rafael Nadal believes life will go better for players now at Wimbledon, famed for its weather delays.

"The fixed roof, the sliding roof, is just going to save us all - me, sponsors, fans, players",

It's just going to make it easier for everybody. There's always going to be a match on TV. That's always a good thing.
"For me, it's not going to be something incredibly new, but I'm completely excited that Wimbledon made that big step.
Thinking about where they were 10 years ago it's fantastic to see how they combine tradition with innovation.
"I think we're all very excited to see how the roof is going to be".
